As a 1972 high school All-American scholar athlete, Bobby chose to attend a small private university in Los Angeles to be near his cousin, Ronnie Cole, a rising Hollywood star. Caught in a relationship with a wealthy man 16 years her senior, Monica's desire for independence complicates her friendship with Bobby. Together, they navigate issues of politics, race, and religion, testing their bond. As Bobby, a project engineer, finds himself in the middle of a corporate cover-up, he must decide whether to stand alone against the establishment.
